DEED OF GIFT - WILLIAM COVEY ,

Know all men by these presents that I, William Covey, Senior of Maury County, in the State of Tennessee, for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and bear towards my son, Levin L. Covey and grandson, Alfred Fleming and also for the better support, maintenance and livelihood of the said Leven L. Covey and Alfred Fleming, and also for the better support, maintenance and livelihood of my daughter, Sally Fleming, the mother of the said Alfred, I have given, granted, alienate and delivered and do by these presents give, grant, alien, confirm and deliver unto the said Leven L. Covey and Alfred Fleming, their heirs or assigns the following property: rig, 1 bay horse 4 yrs. Old, 1 gray mare 7 yers old, 1 yoke of theirs and wagon, 3 cows and calves, 1 steer and 1 yearling bull, 2 saws, and pigs, and 16 or 17 sheats (all the hops I have), 12 or 13 head of sheep, 1 wheat fan, all my farming tools, household and kitchen furniture and all other pursuant property by me at this time owned. Whither mentioned herein or not also all the crop of corn, wheat, oats, and cotton now on or growing on the plantation whereon I now live to have and to hold unto the said Leven L. and Alfred freely by them to be owned, possessed, occupied and enjoyed without let or hindrance by or from me the said William Covey, Sr. or any person claiming said property or any part thereof by, under or through me, my heirs or assigned. In witness whereof I the said William Covey, Sr. have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 11th day of June, 1830.
(Then this deed of gift was produced in open court and execution thereof duly acknowledged by the said William Covey, Sr. and ordered to be so certified for registration.)
