DEED OF GIFT, August 1725
Mary Covey to Richard Covey
Memorandum at the request of Richard Covey that the following deed of gift was enacted August 13, 1725.
To all christian people to whom these presents shall come I Mary Covey of Dorchester County in the Province of Maryland widow send greeting. Know ye that I Mary Covey for in consideration of the good will and affection I bear unto my son Richard Covey of the same county have given and granted by these presents do fully freely clearly and absolutely give, grant unto the said Richard Covey all and singular my goods and chattles to his heirs and assigns only one bay mare with________her forehead together with all the right title and interest I the said Mary or any of heirs executors administrators of or assigns may hereafter have of to or in the said granted premises or any part thereof to have and to hold the said granted premises unto him the said Richard Covey his heirs and assigns forever absolutely without any manner of condition as I the said Mary Covey have fully freely and absolutely and of my own word_______put in further testimony in witness of whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of June anno domini 1725 one thousand and seven hundred and twenty-five.
