Memorandum the following deed was recorded the eleventh day of March anno domini seventeen hundred fifty and two.
This indenture made the third day of March of in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and fifty two by and between Edward Billiter and Barbara his wife of Dorchester of the Province of Maryland of the one part and Matthew Covey of the county and province aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the sade Edward Billiter for an in consederation of the sum of four thousand pounds of tobacco to him in hand or otherwise secured to be paid by the said Matthew Covey before the signing sealling and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Edward Billiter do hereby acknowledge my self theirwith fully satisfyd and contented and thereof and every part and parcel thereof do exonerate acquit and discharge him the said Matthew Covey his heirs and assigns forever and by these presents have given granted bargained sold allienated infeofft and confirmed and by these presents do fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell enfeeoff and confirm unto him the said Matthew Covey his heirs and assigns forever all that part of a tract of land lying and being in Dorchester County aforesaid on the east side of Chesapeke Bay and on the east side of a swamp that issueth out of the head of a branch called Anthony Cheleuts Branch that issueth out of the west side of the northwest fork of Nanticoak River it being the land and plantation whear on the said Edward Billiter did formerly dwell containing one hundred acres called Nancy's Delight. To have and to hold the above- said hundred acres of land with all the appurtances and commodatys to the same belonging or in wise appurtaining to him the said Matthew Covey his heirs and assigns forever and the said Edward Billiter and Barbara his wife for themselves their heirs executors administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with him the said Matthew Covey his heirs and assigns forever that before the signing sealling and delivery of these presents they are true sole and lawfull owner of the above bargained premises and am lawfully possessed and sized of the same in our own proper right as a good estate in fee simplle and have in ourselves good right and full power and lawfull authority to grant bargain sell and convaye the above bargained premises with all the appurtenances and commodaty to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said Matthew Covey his heirs and assignes forever to his and their own proper use behoof and benefit for ever free and clear and freely and clearly do exonarat and acquit and discharge of and from all manner of former gifts grants bargains sales mortadges rents or rearedges of rents or incombarances whatsoever the rents and services hereafter to become due and payable out of the same to the cheife lord or lords ofthe fee onely excepted and that he the said Matthw Covey his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by virtue of these presents have hold use occupye possess and peaceable and quietly injoye the above bargained premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appurtain- ing to him the said Matthew Covey his heirs forever and the said Edward Biliter and Barbara his wife do further covenant promise and agree to and with him the said Matthew Covey his heirs and assigns forever the lands and premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging against him the said Edward Billiter and Barbara his wife their heirs executors administrators or any of them or any other person or persons claiming or to claim from by or under them their heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever will warrant and forever defend. In witness whear the said Edward Biliter and Barbara his wife hath here- unto put their hands and seals the day and year herewithin written.

Memorandum the words his wife between the first and second line the word to hold between the nineteenth and twentieth line and the word the of the between the thirty sixth and the thirty seventh lines was enterlined before the signing sealling and delivered in the presence of Edward Trippe/John Casson.
On the back of the aforegoing deed were the following endorsements.
l Received of the within named Matthew Covey the sum of four thousand pounds of tobacco in full saks faction for the lands and premises within contained received this 3rd day of Marcy 1752. Test. Edward Trippe/John Casson Edward Billiter
Maryland Dorchester County best remembered that on the third day of March 1752 personally appeared the within named Edward Billiter and Barbara his wife and did then and their acknowledge the within deed of bargain and sale and the lands and premises within contained to be the right of him the within named Matthew Covey his heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the within written deed the within named Barbara the wife of him the said Edward Billiter being first________examined as the law in such cases deirects. Taken and acknowledged the day and year above.
