Tobacco, Microsoft, Guns, and Twinkies

by Sonny Crockett
When the Tabacco companies were being sued I warned of this very tactic being used on the gun industry. I do not use tobacco in any form, however it is a product that is legal and the companies exercise nothing more than free enterprise in what I thought to be an enterprising nation. To say that no one knew the dangers of using tobacco is like saying I didn't know the rattle snake would bite if I got too close. Allowing individuals and actual states to sue the industry was the biggest railroad job ever. Sure, they are an easy target and nobody gave it much thought....that is the problem today, lack of common sense and no thought. I saw right away, should this come to full fruition that the radical left would next be on the fast track for guns.

Do people not understand with the tobacco precedent set, they can now go after any freedom they want?? It is much better to use free agency than to set bad precedents. How ludicrous is it for someone to smoke their whole lives and then be able to sue the company that made the product that they so enjoyed while times were good, but the minute they have to take responsibility for their actions it's a ridiculous display of lazy irresponsibility, and this is the whole jest of things isn't it? This whole ordeal is nothing more than unscrupulous attorneys and people who refuse to take responsibility for their actions. I have to admit I become mad as hell when I think of people, just like me, yet nothing like me, who have the freedom to choose, especially when it comes to our bodies, what we do with them, and then want none of the responsibility for what they have done. This would be fine if it stopped there, but it goes a step further and restricts my freedoms because of their inadequacy to govern their own lives. Do what you will people, but don't take away my freedoms because of your own lack of responsibility. Don't sue companies who legally manufacture a product, and don't give me that ridiculous story about how a little bit more nicotine made you smoke longer than you wanted to, that is weak, but obviously a judge believed it, and a lot of states jumped on the band wagon.

I dwell on the tobacco issue, only because this is the insane madness that started it all. I saw it all from the start, I new what would come of this. I was only wrong in one area, I said that the gun manufacturers would be next after the tobacco suit, it just so happens if anyone paid attention, it was Bill Gates who was next on the hit list. The same unbearable logic was used to drag this man and his company through the dirt.

Now come the gun manufacturers. I use strong words, only because it is truly a ship of fools at the wheel of these lawsuits, yet those who know what they are doing are truly intelligent morons. Those who are negotiating the suits are lost causes, they know and understand full well what they are doing and the consequences of it all. I do hope however that I reach just a few individuals who might at first have thought that these things were good Ideas. It is not right to blame someone else for our own inadequacies, mistakes, things that we do that we know are not right, yet we continue on with them. We all have the right to choose, but after the choice we do not or should not have the right to blame someone else, and not only blame them but to commence lawsuits without merit. I will end in another warning, for an even more dangerous group of companies who haphazardly produce their wares, that many partake of, listen to me and beware, after the tobacco suits, and the pending gun suits, It will only be equally asinine when the group of over weight people sue Sara Lee, Hostess, alas even Little Debbie snack cakes.

I can see it now, "Yes your Honor, they put extra creme in the twinkies for years, this made me crave them more, and the result is a size 20."
