DECHMAN-DIGHTMAN
and BERRY
GENEALOGY
"WE FIND OURSELVES
WHEN WE DISCOVER
THE PAST."
James Dechman and his wife, Grizzel Brunton,
left Edinburgh, Scotland and arrived in Salem,
Massachusetts in April 1775. They settled in
Halifax, Nova Scotia by 1782. James became the
first Keeper of the Town Clock and lived in the
Town Clock Building.
James's son, Richard became a farmer in
Upper Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.
So begins the saga of my family.
