OBJECTIVES:
1. To explore a variety of story telling methods.
2. To discover the fun of books.
3. To listen and play out stories, rhymes, poems.
4. To allow children to make their own stories.

Blocks:
Provide props related to weekly planned stories; i.e., story: "the
grasshopper and the ant" build
an ant mound, grass field, tunnels, farm; build a "house for ant,
grasshopper.

Art:
Prepare books with children's art and stories.
Paint a story.
Prepare sticker stories.
Provide traceable story characters.
Draw picture of favorite story character.
Prepare a counting book.
Provide easel paper on shape of a book; favorite pet, etc.
Prepare stationary (with stencils or stamps)/
Draw a story.

Science:
Have children "read" counting book to one another.
Prepare favorite food of story character.
Build a vegetable man.
Observe different texture paper with magnifying glass.
Provide tape and glue to repair pages.
Make paper/ ink.

Provide writing instruments: twigs, charcoal, feathers.

Literacy:
Read music.
Sign language.
