Hi my name is Patrick and I didn't stay in my Mommies belly for to long. The doctors even stitched her cervix closed and made her stay in bed for 11 weeks. My daddy even put shock blocks under the end of the bed and I felt like I was on my head, I knew my mommy was uncomfortable so that's when I decided to kick my way out. I am still kicking to because I am a fighter and a love bug. Well I am going to let mom write for a while so I can take a little nap. Thanks for coming over and come again soon.

Hello this is me Vicky and my husband Raymond!!!!
My husband and I were so scared when the labor pains started, because,we had lost Patrick's brother Adam the year before. That's when we found out I had an incompetent cervix. Even to get to this point, Patrick has certainly come along way. He was born at 26 weeks gestation weighing in at 690 grams (1 lb. 8 oz.) and 12 in. long, or short, however you want to look at it. The first time we saw him in the NICU we were overwhelmed with all the tubes and wires, we got to know what all those wires were
for before he was anyway near coming home. Patrick was in the hospital from Dec.12, 1996-Mar.3, 1997. I stayed at the Providence Ronald House while my husband commuted to work everyday. I was grateful to have a home away from home. The first time I got to hold Patrick wasn't until Dec.24. My husband got to hold him about a week after me.
Patrick had four blood transfusions and BPD( bronco pulmonary dysphasia) and a double hernia operation before he came home. Finally, Patrick came home March,3,1997 with an apnea monitor it was a good thing for us other wise we would have never slept a wink. The visiting nurses were also coming in for an hour a day to check his status and weight. He had respigam infusion
before he left the hospital to prevent respiratory virus and it gave him a cold. He had that cold from the day left the hospital till he got really sick in May,14,1997 and had to be ventilated for 3 days he had bronchitis and was a very sick kid. Patrick got off the apnea monitor when he was 8 mths old , and no more visiting nurses. So it was a big change for hubby and me to get used to. Patrick's had early intervention services since
he has been 3 mths old and he has been doing great with that he goes to toddler group and has PT and a case worker that comes to house. He gets sick alot but not bad enough to go to the hospital for but i know its going to be a long winter for him and us and i just keep praying that he will always keep the fight that he has in him. Well since i've talked to you the last time some things have changed. Patrick got the croup and was sick for over 4 weeks. He is finally doing better now thank god. I took Patrick
out of toddler group for the winter and will be putting him back in the spring its really unfortunate but wasn't beneficial with him being sick. Patrick's all signed up for toddler group and sensory group starting June 7th. I was going to get him into tumblebugs at the ymca but he ended up getting sick again. He went to the hospital and they said asma in less then 24 hours he was back again, and this time they said it was croup. Thank god it didn't last as long this time.
