ALASKA

No matter what you call it, it's still home!

This page is being created to allow me to share some of my home with you. The pictures will change as I acquire new ones and you get tired of looking at the old ones. Some pictures I will have taken myself, some from friends, some postcards, and even a few newsprints. And that is exactly what this first one is. I found it in today's local paper and it inspired me to create this page. The area in question is only about 4 miles from me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

COOLING OFF IN THE POOL

"A cow moose and her twin calves cool off in a Midtown Estates yard with the help of a children's wading pool. Resident Bill Siedler said the moose family relaxed in the pool for several hours, enjoyed a fresh snack from his garden and stayed overnight before leaving."

Here are a few of the sights you can enjoy in this beautiful state.
I hope you enjoy your visit.

Igloos do still happen here, though this one is not made of ice, and will be a hotel someday.
Or so it's owner hopes.

These are just a few of the sights you can enjoy while driving along the Parks Highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks. There is not an ugly sight on the whole trip. The one on the right is a very, very deep gorge called "Hurricane Gulch". I took this picture standing on the bridge that crosses it.
Not the most comfortable place to be if you are afraid of heights as I am.
