The Emerald Square Dance Center is a large, (13,000 Sq. ft.), building, with floating wooden floors. It was purchased, in 1991, and remodeled by the local square dance community. It is owned as a non-profit entity by all of the square dancers, no matter where they dance, from the Eugene/Springfield area. It is the home of a number of square dance clubs and hosts many square dance, round dance, and clogging events. It is also available for rent, proceeds going to the costs of the hall.
The Emerald Square Dance Center is appropriate for dances, parties, anniversary and wedding receptions, conventions, workshops, club and group meetings, seminars, workshops and classes.
Description of The Emerald Square Dance Center
There are two halls, both with floating wooden floors. Each hall has separate heating and air conditioning and bathroom facilities. Chairs and tables are available. The hall is newly remodeled, clean and well kept, There is lighted parking for 80-100 cars. No alcohol is allowed on the premises and smoking is allowed only outside the hall. Hall A has 5500 sq. ft., a capacity of 300 people. It has a full 2500 sq. ft. kitchen and dining area. Hall A has a hearing transmitter and sound facilities. Hall B has 2200 sq. ft., a capacity of aprox. 100 people. It has a private entrance, kitchenette, and hearing transmitter.
The Emerald Square Dance Center has easy access to/from Highways I-5 and I 105.There are refundable deposits of $150 for cleaning and $50 for keys. Hall A rents for $35 an hour with a two hour minimum. Hall B rents for $25 an hour with a two hour minimum.
