The Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat is of
West African origin.
They are considered a rare breed according to the “American Livestock Breeds Conservatory”
Nigerians are also great pets because of their usually very gentle temperaments, even the breading bucks.

Coloring

Brown (all shades), black, white, gray, red, orange & gold. The color can be solid or can be in spots, patches, speckles and all sorts of random markings.

Milking

The amount of milk is exceptional for the size of these goats. The average is 2.5lbs per day but as much as 6.3lbs have been recorded. The butter fat content can be as high as 11.3%.

Breeding

The bucks are old enough to use as breeding stock sometimes as early as 3 months but fore sure by 7. And the Does can be bred as early as 5 to 8 mos. The gestation period is 5 months. Often breeders will bread 3 times in a two-year period.

The average price is $200.00 - 500.00
A goat with an exceptional milk testing record and, or pedigree can be up to $800.00
Weathers or pet quality usually go for $100.00 - 200.00
