Northern Home and Pet Care (NHPC) offers services in the Municipality of Wood Buffalo - specifically, the City of Fort McMurray, which is located in the north-east corner of the Province of Alberta, Canada, about 437 km north of the provincial capital, Edmonton. The permanent population of Fort McMurray is about 44,000 people, and the city is comprised of a Lower Townsite (or downtown) and Waterways, and three areas built on the surrounding hills: Thickwood, Dickinsfield, and Timberlea; Abasand Heights, and Beacon Hill / Gregoire Park. An outlying area is named Saprae Creek Estates. Other nearby townships are: Gregoire Lake Estates, Anzac, Janvier, Conklin, and Fort McKay - but NHPC does not service these areas. The history of pet care services in Fort McMurray goes back to 1994 to 1996 when two men (who had jobs elsewhere) ran a service named RnR Care. Then, in November 1996, they closed their business and "sold" the files to John Stoddart, who had just started up a franchise named Custom Home-Watch International, which gave equal emphasis to house and pet-sitting. John worked on this business until May 2001 (we started working for him in June 1999) and he built up a sizeable client base which we have now taken over. Some of our new customers date from those original RnR days! We now hope that you will explore our website and find out what we have to offer. |
