Eve and Reilly's 6th litter was born between 11am and 1:30pm on November 21st, 1998! She didn't have a tummy at all until a few days before they were born, so I was guessing probably 3 or 4 babies. Well guess what . . . SHE HAD SIX! Man, can she pack those things in there or what ;) I checked on her at 11:30 and saw that she had 2 babies. Then I left her alone for a while, and when I checked on her next she seemed to have a LOT underneath her. I didn't know how many, though. Another check at 1:30 revealed 6 pink, squirmy, healthy babies ;) She's being a very attentive mom and sitting on them all the time. So much so, that it took me a while to get a good shot of them!

The babies are named Branwen, Aylwen, Caronwen, Irwin, Kerwin, and Sherwin. In case you didn't notice it, the theme is names ending in wen and win ;) Branwen is a schimmel female, Aylwen and Irwin are schimmel males, Kerwin and Sherwin are champagne males, and Caronwen is a champagne girl (and a little runt ;)

12/16/98 It's pretty funny... Eve & Reilly have to be my most spasmo pair, but their pups are the calmest and SWEETEST things! I can hold the little ones in my hands without fear of them catapulting themselves across the room. How cool is that? ;)
12/10/98 One of the champagne pups has both of his eyes open, and one of the schimmels has one ;)
12/8/98 Arghh, Eve gnawed a hole in her waterbottle last night which drenched all the pups and made them all wet =6 luckily I noticed in time and cleaned it all out so everyone is snuggly & warm again.
12/1/98 Okay, Sherwin and Kerwin are champagne males, Branwen is a schimmel female, Irwin and Aylwen are schimmel males, and I *think* Caronwen (the runt) is a champagne female.
11/27/98 Preliminary guess... at least 1 or 2 champagnes, the litter looks mostly male... we'll see in a few more days.
11/26/98 Hmmm one of the pups is a runt! Maybe that's the one I missed the other day?
11/25/98 False alarm, I found the pup again! ;) Six chubby squeakers.
11/24/98 I can't find the 6th baby = ( Maybe it's just buried, but I can't find it...
