So you want to train your gerbil to sit on your shoulder cute as can be. Easier said than done, you say? Well, maybe, and maybe not. Some gerbils are better at this than others (males seem better IMO) but with time and patience you can probably train your whole clan to sit on your shoulder. This is also a good "trust" exercise with new gerbies ;) Place the newbie on your shoulder. It will look around for a sec and then no doubt begin sliding down your back/front/arm. Well then you stick out your hand to catch him. This teaches them that your hands are friendly and helpful. Well anyway, to the point, here are some pics of Ash sitting on my shoulder and elbow = )

Me & My boy
"Looks like a long way down!"
Ash is probably the best at it... Reilly coming in second. Reilly's more apt to climb right on my arm, though. Ash usually waits for me to snatch him, but boy does he make it known that he wants to be picked up = )
