In 1889 George McCloud was still a silent partner in Larkins & Co. and lived only a block away on the same street. William Bernard Larkins (1867-1942), age 22, was the eldest son of William Larkins (1833-1913), the proprietor, and was still living at home with his father. The house at 27 Dorland Street was destroyed 7 years later in the Great Quake of 1906.
