Thomas Larkins and Genevieve Erb lived in this isolated oilfield residence in Kern County, California from 1921 to 1933. Tom was the manager of the oilfield and his was the only house there. Emery Titus Erb died here in 1929. Note the derricks and barren soil in the background and the American flags flying from the roof. The prominant surrounding porch was there to cope with the hot climate. |
