The O Lorcain Heraldic Shield. This is the only O Lorcain shield of Irish origin. (Two others that have three leopard's faces on a field of ermine with or without a walking lion are of later British origin). By right, it belongs only to first-born direct descendants of the individual Knight who originally earned it. (Which I make no claim to be.)
The blue cross symbolizes one granted to a Knight of the Crusades. The checkerboard background is called "Chequy". |
