THERE WAS A CHILD

There was a babe in Bethleham
Laid in a manger dear
This child came to bring us grace
And show the Father's love more clear

There was a child in Jerusalem
In the Temple he calmly came
The questions asked by this dear child
Astonished preistly names

There was a man in Galilee
Who walked this earthly sod
Signs and wonders followed Him
His Father's Name was God

There was a Savior, hung on a cross
To save us from our sin
There He suffered, bled, and died for all
To bring salvation to men

There is a King in Heaven
It's for us the cross He bore
He's gone to prepare for us a place
Where we'll abide for evermore

There is a Warrior coming soon
To claim His precious bride
To come and sup for eternity
Ever at His beautiful side
