Jesus Christ

Who Is Jesus?

Welcome to my web page. As I'm sure you can tell, I am a Christian. A Christian is a sinful person who believes in Jesus Christ. We believe that He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, and that He rose from the dead. It is only by the blood of Jesus that our sins are atoned for. We believe in the One True God, who is a Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ, who is God the Son, is the Second Person of the Trinity. He came down from heaven and became a man to save us from our sins. He loves us and invites all people into a saving relationship with Himself. For it is only through faith in Jesus that our sins can be forgiven. Salvation is solely by the grace of God.

I am a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana. St. Peter's is a member of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). St. Peter's also has a school (K-8th grade), and is known for its architecture. Some other churches in Columbus that are members of The LCMS are Faith Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church. The LCMS is simply a group of churches that have come together in doctrinal unity, striving to keep our beliefs and teachings in line with those of the Bible. The LCMS has many outreaches, including a radio station in St. Louis, and a nationally syndicated radio program called, "Issues Etc.".

Lutherans are Christians. The Lutheran church does not worship Martin Luther. The name "Lutheran" simply identifies the theological beliefs of the Lutheran church. What Lutherans believe can be found in The Book of Concord, which is also known as the Lutheran Confessions. Lutherans do not claim to be the only Christians. All who have faith in Jesus Christ are Christians. It is not church membership that saves us. We are saved through a personal faith in Jesus Christ alone.

There are also a number of places on the internet to find out more about Christianity and Lutheranism. Here are some additional links:
