She was the mother of twelve children, ten of whom are living. She is survived by sixty-four grandchildren and one hundred and seventy-four great and great-great-grandchildren, her descendants numbering 248.
Deceased was for a long tie a patient sufferer, quietly waiting for the final summons. She was baptised by Rev. A.F. Ramsey in 1896 and united with the Christian church, since which time she had lived in hope and died rejoicing, her last words being "Glory to God" as she passed into the great beyond. Deceased had lived a useful life being loved by all who knew her. She was industrious and kind-hearted and ever ready to assist those in time of trouble.
She was the daughter of Owen Adkins who was the most prominent and distinguished of his name in this county.
The funeral was conducted from her residence by her pastor, Rev. W.C. Clark and the interment was nearby on Thursday evening in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends.
Deceased was a loving mother, a devoted friend, a kind neighbor and an interesting and entertaining associate.
