Man Ends Life with Rifle Bullet
Harold Hardesty, 52, died in Coshocton Memorial Hospital at 3:50 p.m.
Saturday of a self-inflicted bullet wound.
Mr Hardesty shot himself in the head with a .22-caliber rifle about
3 p.m. yesterday, in the bedroom of his home at 531 Locust St. He
was alone in the house at the time, and was found, fatally wounded,
by his wife a short time later.
He was employed as a clerk at Isaly's dairy store until 1948, and
had been in ill health for the last three years.
He was born in Conesville Feb 23, 1900, the son of Howard and Adeline
Parrish Hardesty. In 1929 he married Dora Savage, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mattioni, Canal Lewisville;
Mrs. Donald Latham, Coshocton; and Mrs. George Clough, of the home;
two sons, Richard and Harold Jr., both of Coshocton and three
grandchildren. The parents and one sister are deceased.
Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dawson
Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. E. B. Johnson. Burial will be
in
South Lawn cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. today.
