Background Allie and Grant.....2001!

I have lived at this den for over 3 years now. Most of that time spent with Miss Taffy, who was an elderly Lhasa Apso when I arrived. She never was too fond of me no matter how hard I tried to make up with her. When she went to the Bridge Mom talked about adopting another Lhasa from a rescue group at a later time. After about 3 months she got an application from the national Lhasa Rescue. She said that she could have got a baby easier than a Lhasa. She and Gramma both had to fill out the papers. They had to get a police background check an since there was no one local to do a house check the people call our vet, Dokter Sara to see if we were worthy or not. Finally we got approved. What a relief! Then we were given the name of 2 people in Indiana who did Lhasa rescue to contact and get our name on the list. Mom talked to a man in Dale Indiana in the southern part of the state and he said he had a very small black Lhasa girl, who was not ready to go yet cause she had a Cherry eye and it needed fixed. Mom said she would wait....and wait we did. We bout gave up but finally one day he called (over a month later) and ask if we were still interested. Of course we were. He was going to be going to a dog show in Illinois so he said that he would meet Mom right here in town and she could pick up the liddle girl and not have to drive all the way down to Dale to get her. He was supposed to be here around 3pm and Mom and Gramma were waiting anxiously for him to call. He finally called at 7 and he had not left yet due to a problem with one of his own dogs. He finally left about 9pm and didn't arrive in Terre Haute till after midnight. Mom calls Allie her Midnight special! She was so tiny when they brought her home. She was 15 months old and she only weighed 8 pounds and was liddle biddy. I loved her at first site though and she loved me. It took a couple of weeks for her to get use to all of us but she sure didn't lack for cuddles and loving from any of us. Now she is all settled in. She plays hard all day long and has her toys all over the house. She likes to play chase in the back yard and I let her win sometimes but I think she knows I can always catch her. Mom calls her Miss Petal cause of some of our frends from OZ that call cute liddle things petals. She didn't like the snow at first but me and my cousin Kodi the Husky showed her all the swell fun things about snow and now she dives right in. Sometimes we have to pull her out when she gets in over her head but she sure likes to play in it. So far things are good. I'm sending you a picture of the two of us together.
