Background Bogie Ruhl.....1999!
Hi!! I am Boochie and I am pleased to say.... Wow, I`m puppy of the month!! Not bad for an adopted little pound puppy. I am 2 years old and of many breeds. My tongue is paisley--big tan feet and broad chest (little chow) My face is sort of terrier. My coat could that of a cocker spaniel. My vet and groomer say I`m just a "Benji Mutt". I am however very cute and very lovable. I am also very loved by a lot of people. E&E are my cousins. I have a brother, also mixed adopted, named Bogie who is only 3 weeks older than me. He is also very cute and lovable. Dotti put a crown on his picture so he thinks he is puppy of the month also, but I know the truth. I am the cutest!!!! ......OOOPS!!!!!!!! And now a word from the KING!!!!!!
My name is Bogie aka Bogmonster!! I am a mixed breed who was adopted from a pet shop that found homes for pound puppies. The pet store was quite normal in everyway. They had a large variety of fish, birds and all sorts of pet supplies.. The main difference was that the goal of this shop was to find homes for unwanted cats and dogs. Janet arrived in this shop in Dec. of 1996 to help a friend choose a puppy for her daughter for Christmas.. There were only 3 cages of pups----usually 2 or 3 from litter in a display area. The stores policy was to never take more pups or kittens than they could place because once they made it to Brothers Pet Store they would be adopted and never put down.. Janet instantly was taken with me although she was not shopping (yea right). She wanted her friend to get the best dog in there and she knew I was it. Her friend, however, was taken by a litter of mostly cocker-spaniel mix and wasn`t interested in the cutest dog in the store. I kept jumping and jumping at the cage and Janet kept looking at me. She could not believe that her friend did not want me. Finally Janet`s friend said "If you like that dog so much why don`t you adopt him?" At the same time a young man that worked there asked if I wanted the dog out of the cage so we could become better friends. She said yes and let me out and I went nuts!!!! You see, I was last of litter and was 9 weeks old. My brothers and sisters had been adopted. The pet store had given me the name of Short Stuff because I have a long body and short legs and before Janet came in a week before Christmas nobody wanted me. Once I got out of that cage I changed that. I jumped all over her, licked her face and the next thing I knew she was filling out adoption papers. The store required 3 pages of information as to what sort of home I would be going to. They also had a 24 hour waiting period for change of mind-----but I heard that phone ringing all day the next day to see if she had been approved and could come take me to a better place. Finally, the next evening they called her and I was all hers. I don`t know who was more exited me or her. She came to get me and bought me a new collar and leash and put me in her lap in the front seat of the car and took me to my new home. I was exited that in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve I ate the lights off her Christmas tree. She was pretty upset because the human kids that grew up in that house were coming that night. She was pretty cool about it though because Randy did not want her to bring me home. She knew his love of animals would allow me to stay, so she calmly put all new lights on the tree to be ready for all the company that would be coming. On Christmas day I found out what a big family I was coming too. That was the day I met Aunt Dotti. She said I was the cutest puppy she had ever seen and then there was a cousin named Emily who just wanted to hold me all day. Then I met the grandmother, the one the human kids call Mom. She was real cool---sneaking me Swedish meatballs, and cheese and all kinds of treats. Not too long after a pretty little black-haired girl came from the same pet store. I really liked her and we started playing together right away. Her name is boochie and she is 3 weeks younger than I am. I thought I was in hog heaven. The next morning I was put in the car. I thought "Oh no" I shouldn`t have eaten those Christmas lights and socks and ties and underwear!!! They like the little black haired girl better and I`m out of here. But I was being taken to that awful Vet for a little surgery. I guess nobody wanted to see what a litter of ours would look like. Between the two of us there are many breeds. We don`t know what I am but if you look at my face you sure see some German Shephard. As to the rest of me----I have a very soft double coat. I think I may have a little small Collie in me, such as border collie or somethig to justify my short legs. Janet has now become Mom and she really doesn`t really care what mine or Boo`s bloodlines are. All that matters is that we are healthy, happy and all hers.
Seen below are two of the BIGGEST doggies Bogie and I have ever lived next door to! We will update you with names for these beasts at a later date!
