Background Wags & Scarlett.....1997!

Hi, my name is Wags and I am a 2-1/2 year old Shih-Tzu who lives in the woods near Raleigh, NC. The day after Mom, Dad, Bo and me opened all our neat Christmas gifts, Mom took off in her van as usual! She told me she'd bring home a surprise for us. Wow, what could that be? About 3 hours later she drove in and I was waiting, as usual, at the carport door watching for her. All of a sudden I saw my Aunt Bons and then, to my surprise, a beautiful pup just my size. Boy was I confused since I only meet big dogs usually. Mom says that's because I'm too bossy with dogs my size. I went outside and introduced myself to this gorgeous lady pup....well, I knew she was a lady since I just had to sniff her . I wondered if she was going to be allowed inside with me.... Sure enough, Mom invited her and Aunt Bons in. I wasn't too sure about sharing my house with another pup, but she seemed so nice I figure I'd wait and see. Since she stayed by her mom and didn't come near mine, that was cool , and I decided I liked her -- a lot! By the next day, though, Mom was holding and hugging her. Just as well, I hate hugs, but Mom could've held me! Oh well, nothing to be worried about, or so I thought! Well, I was kinda wrong....that night the little pup slept in my bed in the guest room with Aunt Bons and I had to sleep with Mom, Dad, Rosie & Bo in the master bedroom. I swear, if Mom had pushed me out of bed one more time, I would've bitten her . Anyway, we got used to it, and Mom and Aunt Bons took off almost every day, leaving Bo, Scarlett and me home to play! They don't know how much fun we had ... hee, hee! The funniest part was when Scarlett tried to walk on the gravel driveway and her little feet hurt. Hey, I'm tough and tried to show her where to walk on the edge of the driveway where there was some grass and pine needles that were softer. She seemed to really enjoy herself after that, sniffing every tree and bush. Bo and I loved our walks with Aunt Bons and Scarlett in the woods, even though it was real cold for this time of year. While they were here, I showed Aunt Bons how a pup like me can play soccer all by myself. I think I impressed her a lot with that showing-off. One morning, though, Aunt Bons got up real early and started walking to where I was sleeping and I barked at her. Mom got up, grumpy at the hour, and I saw a suitcase and Scarlett's bag for the plane and I realized they were leaving :sigh:! I looked all over for her that day and felt very lost and moody until I knew they went home and wouldn't be back for a while :-( Then I had to have my much-needed bath from all that black stuff I got on me while rolling in the grass after Dad burnt that big outside fire, and I sure looked better. I only wish Scarlett had seen me longer when I was so soft and clean like I was when she arrived. I really like my Aunt Bons and Miz Scarlett a lot, and hope to see them soon along with my cuzzies Barney and Theo .> At least Scarlett has finally learned to chew on bones. Now I want to teach her how to run and dig holes in the dirt and roll in them....so much fun! I also want to have Theo run through the woods with Bo and me (as long as he doesn't knock himself out), and the BarnMan too, since his sniffer makes up for his poor eyesight! I'd even let him share my pen outside and play soccer with him, only he likes smaller balls than me . So much for a little pup's dreams who hopes that one day soon these dreams will all come true .
