I will never forget my first turtle, who lived only a
year - the victim of pet-store and first-time-owner ignorance. I
waited eleven years before getting Macbeth, learning everything
I can (thank heavens for the Net!), and I've made sure he has
all the proper comforts and requirements that Luigi never had. I
still miss you, Luigi, and I'm sorry - I can only ensure your
brothers and sisters will have the best possible environment I
can provide.

Jimmy was the sweetest little thing you ever did see. When
we would let him wander around the house, no matter where we let
him on the ground, he always found his way to the sliding glass
door and he'd pull himself up on the ledge and just stretch his
little neck out and look out the window forever if he could. He
was so cute. My sister took him to Virginia with her, and she
had him there for a long time, he grew a little, and she said he
wasn't moving around at all. She didn't want to watch him die
(if he even really was) so she just set him free in the back
yard. I thought that was cruel because if he wasn't dying, he
was going to be dead without someonefeeding him! So, my little
Jimmy, rest in peace, and I miss you! You are still loved and
thought of.

Tommy was a good pal. Along with being very cute. He was very
cooperative. I thought I was giving him enough food but one
day I came home and found him dead. Since he was only a baby I
was sad. But I had a memorial service for him at the top of the
hill.

Beavis escaped and fell into the canal, we think he
didnt survive because he was only 4 months then...Butthead grew weak
and died after a month later...we miss you!!!

I think Slash had a vitamin A deficiency He/She could not
see for about 3-4 months so he couldn't find
his/her food! I tried hand feeding but he/she
would just vomit the stuff back up. He/She would
just sit in the water or on his basking rock and
stay in that spot for hours. Then one day, I came
home and he had drowned. : - ( Well, Slash is
now up in turtle heaven!

Jub Jub was only two years old when he died. Jub Jub got
killed by another turtle. It was horrible. They were fighting and the
other turtle bit his neck and didn't let go. I love you Jub Jub.

These two baby turtles died peacefully. One died first
because of unknown factors, then the other followed that same
night. We believe that it is because of a broken heart.

I found the little dude on it's first day out of the
shell. Named it for the way I had to bring it home (well it was
a fanny pack actually). He/she enjoyed a luxurious life in a 50
gallon tank with enough feeder gups to be happy. The growth
rate was enormous. Died suddenly in June '98 for no apparent
reason. Sorely missed, but it spawned an increased interest and
now there are 5 red eared sliders keeping each other company in
Pocket's old home.

She was a beautiful and very playful turtle. She was
loved by us and will be missed very much!

Carmen died at 40 years old.

He had just been born when I got him. I had him 4
years. In the summer he had an outside pen and came when you
called. He ate berrys out of yor hand and loved his troat
rubbed. I was stupid and overfed him so he couldnt close his
shell and one night a skunk ate him. This was 30 years ago and I
still makes me cry. Ill never own another turtle taken from the
wild. It was very wrong I know now. I hope he went to heaven
because he brought me so much pleasure in those 4 years. He had
such a sweet face and gorgeos markings. I miss you! |
