...WORD FOR THE DAY...

Thank you for visiting our "Word For The Day" page. I hope you will receive a blessing from it as I received bringing this message.

Native Americans have a belief that says we are all a part of the "Web of Life". You may be asking yourself what does that mean ? Let me try to explain...
Let us visualize a spider making it's web. As it begins it makes one strand of the web and secures it to something. From there it continually builds on that strand, securing each part of the web together. As he builds the web it becomes stronger and stronger.
When he has finished building the web, you can not see where it begins or ends. The beginning and the end is only known by the creator of the web when it is completed. Just one continuous strand, connected together at many different points. Each part of the web is important. Each part makes it strong, and each part is necessary to the whole.
Native Americans believe we are all connected. Man, animals, plants, and the earth all have a part in the Web of Life. Each part is necessary to the whole. Each part makes the other strong.
Where do they get this belief from ? I believe it can be found in the scriptures.
1 Cor 10:26 says, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof".
God created the earth and everything in it. Thus we have the Creator. He created the earth for man to dwell. Plants and animals for food, clothing, and companionship as well as others.
The Bible says that the Creator God created the earth and all things in 6 days, and on the 7th day he rested. As of this day, man still doesn't know when he created it or when it will end. But like the spider and it's web, the Creator knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning.
Why do Native Americans believe we are all connected in the Web of Life ? Again we look to the scriptures.
1 Cor 12:12 says, "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ".
Why do Native Americans believe we are all important ?
1 Cor 12:25 says, "That there should be no schism(divisions) in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another".
You see, one part can not say to the other, "I am more important than you". The foot can not say to the leg, "I am more important", because the leg is needed to carry the foot. The ear can not say to the brain, "I am more important", because the brain is needed to translate what the ear hears. The eye can not say to the heart, "I am more important", because the heart has to discern what the eye see's.
Each part of the body(web) is necessary to the whole or the fullness (of Life).
Psa 24:1 says, "For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein".
Not only is the earth the Creator God's, but the world and all that dwell here. Everything you see, and everything you can touch, it all belongs to the Creator God.
Why do Native Americans respect the sun, moon, and stars ? Because they are all a part of the Creator God's creation.
1 Cor 15:41 says, "There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory".
They do not worship these objects as some think, but they understood that they are all a part of the Web of Life. A part of the Creator God's creation. And we are all to respect what He has created.
Some people think we created God for our pleasure, to have and to use as we see fit or when we want something from Him. But the scriptures say differently...
Rev 4:11 says, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created".
In other words, the Creator God created us (and all things) to bring Him pleasure. He created us to fellowship with him and to be a part of him.
Today, take the time just to see and experience the Creator God's creation. Take time to receive all that he has given us and to see the beauty in all that he has created.
And remember... We are all a part of the Web of Life. Each one a part of the Circle of Creation. Each part as important as the others... Amen.
