Finally . . .

We Made The Last Islip Horseman's Show

October 1998!

This was our reunion show and it had
maintained a special quality for us.
Everyone worked a long time for this one
since the first few Islip shows
were cancelled this year due to rain.

Chrystal and Jim made this their
first Western Pleasure show.

Jim rode in his first Western Pleasure class (Beginner).
Ten other women were in the competition,
but he came out with second place. Jim also did his first reining pattern at the end of the day --
quite well too.

Chrystal made her Western Pleasure debut
on Sleepalena. She responded well
to the judge's requests and
wound up second in her youth
Western Pleasure class.

It has been a year that Nicole has been training
with Dolly and she was ready to ride
in her first youth Western Pleasure class.
As excited as she was, Nicole keep
her cool while performing all
the maneuvers asked of her.
Nicole came out of the class
as a first place winner!
Unfortunately, she missed her call
for the Horsemanship class,
but will pay better attenion next time.

Louise had fun riding in special Appaloosa classes.
But, her wish for next year is to ride and show in reining.
Maureen did a schooling run with her horse Banjoe in the
reining class and stayed on pattern as well.

The weather was perfect and the camraderie between friends was clear.
Patty kept everyone organized and Claire did last minute touchups.
Special thanks goes to D'Nae Meyer
who found her way to us from Nebraska.
It is with her dedication and patience
that everyone is learning how to ride,
maintain good equitation and better showmanship.
We've already started on our education
with D'nae for next year's show season. . .

Check out the first show of 1997 that our group started showing in.
