Adolph OESTREICH was born on 26 Dec 1853 in Schoenhof Province, Mecklenburg, Germany.1 He died on 2 Jun 1939 in ?, Wisconsin.1 Adolph Carl Oestreich was born December 26, 1853 at Schoenhof Province, Mecklenburg, Germany. He came to the U.S. with his brother, Gotteib, at the time of the Franco-Prussian War inat the age of 19. He settled at Plymouth, Wisconsin where his brother stayed. He came to Clark County in 1883, bought a farm in the town of Sherman, cleared the land, and built a home. This farm is located in the north west corner of the town of Sherman, Section 5. He married Theresa Augusta Meuche at the Granton Lutheran Church on August 14, 1884 by Rev. Fisher. He was married to Theresa Augusta MEUCHE (daughter of Michael MEUCHE and Augusta Marie SIMON) on 14 Aug 1884 in Granton Lutheran Church, Sherman, Wisconsin (Rev. Fisher).1 Theresa Augusta MEUCHE1 was born on 30 Jul 1865 in Schoenhof Province, Mecklenburg, Schwarn, Germany.1 She died on 4 Jan 1951 in ?, Wisconsin.1 Theresa Augusta Meuche was born July 30, 1865 in Sachen, Thiringen, Germany. She came to the U.S. at age 18 (1883) and lived in Neillsville, Wisconsin until her marriage to Adolph Oestreich on August 14, 1884. They lived on a farm west of Spencer until 1917. They moved to the first house on the corner of the fifth block on H98 west of the Methodist Church. Her parents were Michael Meuche and Augusta Marie Simon. | ||

She married Johann Heinrich Gottlieb UNSINN(farmer) who was born circa 1833.They had 4 children; Amanda born Jan 1862;Ernst-1864;Günther-Aug.10,1865(my grand- father)& Emma-1869. They immigrated to the United States-Port of New York, arriving June 26,1871, aboard the Europa from Port of Bremen. We think Johann was a Methodist. The name on the passenger list was spelled UNNSINN, I would appreciate any information --my cousin,Robrt Unson, is planning on visiting Germany if there are any leads to our great grandparent's heritage or any living relatives. | I am searching for the family of Peter Ludwig MENGES, born 12/22/1842 in Zwingburg, Germany. He married Zeanette David in Germany in 1865. Peter & Zeanette MENGES' oldest child, Blanche MENGES, was born in Germany on 12/12/1867. In 1870 the MENGES family immigrated to the United States. They settled in Pennsylvania and raised seven more children. Peter MENGES worked as a stonemason. He died 5/17/1919 and was buried in Pittsburgh, PA. | I am researching my ancestors and am looking for information on Anna Bickel Holland's ances- tors. She was born 10-24 1864 or 67 in Eisleben. Her father was Jewish and mother was Gentile and father was disowned by church. Mother died at her birth, father died 3 months later. Maternal grandfather raised her til he died when she was 7. Then childless couple raised. Bickel was her mother's maiden name I guess. She married Carl Beck in 1889 and they lived in Herten until emigrating to U.S. in 1910. | I am trying to identify the parents and German birthplaces of my g-g-gparents, Friedrich KLOEPPEL(KLÖPPEL) and Margaretha Barbara LENZ who immigrated to Cincinnati separately around 1850 and were married at St. Matthaeus Evang. Lutheran Church, 16 Apr 1854. Friedrich Kloeppel, b. 27 Jun 1823 (per Delphos OH Lutheran church records), Schwarzburg-Sonderhausen (village not known), DEU. Researching this area in DEU, I have found a Johann Friedrich Klöppel, b. 27 Mar 1822, in Gudersleben (a small village a few kilometers south of Sonderhausen), who immigrated to America in 1851. I believe this is my ancestor, but I do not know why the dates do not match. From the German records, it appears that the father of this Johann Friedrich Klöppel, Johann Heinrich Klöppel (b. 3 Jul 1800) came to America in 1852 with his second wife, Friederike Dorothea Penzler (b. 20 Jan 1828). >From Delphos OH Lutheran church records, I know that Margaretha Barbara Lenz was b. 21 Mar 1827 or 1825 in Oberfranken (upper Franconia), village/town not known. They emigrated to America in the spring of 1873 with their three daughters Maria, Elizabeth and Anna Catharine. Maria was the oldest and was born 20, May 1866. Elizabeth was born 18 Aug. 1868.
