HUGEBACK or HUGEBACH | Oldenburg | LeAnn Hugeback |
Tracing the HUGEBACK or HUGEBACH family roots. According to the 1860 US Census for Wisconsin, Joseph and Elisabeth HUGEBACK or HUGEBACH had Immigrated from Oldenburg Germany with their son Arnold and daughter-in-law Gertrude? around 1850. I know that a majority, if not all the Indiana HUGEBACK's are ancestors of Henry B. or Henrique? HUGEBACK born in 1843 in Oldenburg, Germany. He died in 1929. Henry married Clara SCHROEDER. I am looking for Joseph, Elisabeth and Henry's ancestors, in hopes that they came from the same family line that originated from Oldenburg, Germany in the 1850's. Henry B. is possibly their son, who immigrated from Oldenburg, Germany on 11 Jun., 1861 from Breman to Baltimore on the ship "Albert". Henry traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio then to Indiana where he settled. It is possible that Henry was Joseph and Elisabeth's son, Arnold's brother. Joseph and Elisabeth are listed as being born in Prussia. The HUGEBACK line that I'm researching immigrated around 1850 to Sauk County, Wisconsin, then on to Iowa. | Thu Apr 16 13:36:53 1998 |

VON RAPPE | Unknown | Per B. Lilje | Two Army officers with the surname VON RAPPE came to Norway in the 17th and 18th centuries. They were accepted as noblemen since they belonged to the ancient noble family VON RAPPE, known from Thüringen and Kursachsen since the 1250s (according to themselves), although they both were born in Mecklenburg. Their coat of arms showed on a blue background a vertically divided red and silver bull's head. The first was "Wachtmeister-Leutnant" (later colonel,"Oberst") Casper Jochum von Rappe, born in Mecklenburg ca. 1640, came to Norway 1669, died in Norway 1699. The second was his relative (possibly nephew) "Premier-Leutnant" (later captain) August Friedrich von Rappe, born in Mecklenburg ca. 1691, came to Norway 1718, died in Norway after 1773. I would appreciate any information which can be used to trace the roots of these. Any information on the Thuringen "von Rappe" noble family, and especially on a 1640-1690 mecklenburg branch of itwould be most welcome! Per B.
