MY CREWSE FAMILY

In 1831,Nancy Crews and Martin E.Paul(relation unknown)
received a land grant(Land Grant #19001,dated,
29 October 1831) from the government for a 500 acre
farm on Walden Ridge Mountain, in Rhea Co.,Tennessee.
Records show Martin E.Paul later married a Martha Cruese.

On the 23rd of Sept.,1837, the Rhea Co. Court records
a mortgage deed where Nancy Crews(made her mark)
and Hardy Crews(believed to be her son),borrowed money and
gave the farm as colateral. Hardy Crews is shown on the
next census in another County with his own farm & family.

On October 12,1855 ,at the age of 35, Rufus M.Crewse
sold the same Tennessee farm as shown on the land grant
to Nancy Crews. He moved his wife,and 5 children to the
Ozarks in Wright Co.,Missouri.
