1960's are the era of the Beatles. Liverpool became centre of the world of rock music.

The Beatles(1962-1970) who shook the world start from Liverpool.
Mersey Beat, other Liverpool based rock'n' roll bands followed the Beatles.
Gerry and the Pacemakers sung songs for Liverpool.
"You'll Never Walk Alone"(1963) footy anthem of Liverpool Football Club.
"Ferry 'cross the Mersey"(1964) theme song of the Mersey Ferry.

FOOTBALL
Liverpool is the only city - through Everton or Liverpool - to have staged top flight football in every League season since 1888.
Each club's home ground - Liverpool's Anfield and Everton's Goodison Park - locate just a walk distance.
Liverpool won U.K. football league two times during the 60's, 1963-64 and 1965-66.
