So many of us moms are concerned about the chemicals we are exposing our children to. Here are some non-toxic (or less-toxic) alternatives that you can try. They may take a little extra work, but the benefits are great. You can find more solutions here. Thanks, Tammy for sending me this info! Next week I plan on featuring uses for baking soda!

~Simmer cinnamon and cloves for a fragrant air freshener.
~Sprinkle red chili powder at point of entry to get rid of ants.
~Use borax instead of bleach.
~Worchestershire sauce makes a great brass polish.
~Try lemon juice and salt to clean copper.
~Gradually add brewers yeast to pet's diet to get rid of fleas.
~To clean floors, try using 1 cup vinegar to 2 gallons of water.
~A well-watered pot of basil helps keep those pesky flies away.
~1 tablespoon lemon oil in 1 pint of mineral oil makes a fragrant furniture polish.
~To keep your garbage disposal fresh, process your lemons or orange peelings through it.
~Borax on a damp cloth is a good grease remover.
~Mildew can be removed by combining equal parts of vinegar and salt.
~Try rubbing white chalk into oil stain on clothes before laundering.
~For a good oven cleaner, use 2 tablespoons liquid soap, 2 teaspoons borax and warm water.
~Cider vinegar is a great pet odor remover.
~Chopped bay leaves and cucmber skins will work as a roach repellant.
~A paste of borax and lemon juice will get the toilet bowls clean.
~To clean your windows, mix 2 tablespoons vinegar in 1 quart warm water.
