The Pet Memorial Page

This is a page for all those who have lost their animal friends. I'd like to make a little tribute section, so please send me the names of any pets you have lost that you would like to be included. I will continue working on this page, so please be patient and return again.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to some-
one here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows
and hills for all our special friends so they can run and
play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine
and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health
and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be
left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when
one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are
intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he begins to run
from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him
faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to
be parted again. Tha happy kisses rain upon your face; your
hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more
into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your
life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

The Little Cat Angel

The ghost of a little white kitten
Crying mournfully, early and late,
Distracted St.Peter, the watchman,
As he guarded the heavenly gate.
"Say, what do you mean,"said his saintship,
"Coming here and behaving like that?"
"I want to see Nellie, my missus,"
Sobbed the wee little ghost of a cat.
"I know shes not happy without me,
Won't you open and let me go in?"
"Begone," gasped the horrified watchman,
"Why the very idea is a sin;
I open my gate to good little angels,
Not to stray little beggars like you."
"All right," mewed the little white kitten,
"Though a cat I'm a good angel, too."
Amazed at so bold an assertion,
But aware that he must make no mistake,
In silence, St.Peter long pondered,
For his name and repute were at stake,
Then placing the cat in his bosom
With a "Whist now, and say all your prayers,"
He opened the heavenly portals
And ascended the bright golden stairs.
A little girl angel came flying,
"That's my kitty, St.Peter," she cried.
And, seeing the joy of their meeting,
Peter let the cat angel abide.

This is the tale of a kitten
dwelling now with the blessed above,
It vanquished grim Death and High Heaven
For the name of that kitten was love.

PEACEFUL SLUMBER IN THE FORREST OF THE MIND
Copyright October 1999
By Michael Levy, Author Poet Philosopher

Listen! How sweet sings the breeze, merrily off trees,
whispering wonderment, the ear quietly it does please,
nurturing souls, drifting to Celestial splendor,
beauty unfolds, as into peaceful slumber, coils surrender.

Castles in the sky, growing columns of inspired aspiration,
silver shadows flowing through all generations,
warm cocoons of mortality, linked by silken threads,
webs of lives where comfort embeds.

Serenely rests the head of time,
pillows puff by wisps of the sublime,
mellow moments spark a fusion sphere,
perfumed gardens alight, dancing nymphs are near.

Oh mindful forest flower, rivers many bridges cross,
branches leaved with neurons, invisible flakes of frost,
tender is the night, spirits lovingly caress,
sleep well my children, aware God will bless. M. L.

These angels are for Little Man, Sassy, and Loner who has disappeared. We haven't seen her for quite some time, but we won't give up hope.
