THE KITTY CATS
Violet......Violet is my 11 year old calico cat. She was a present from a friend. She's so sweet and definitely has a personality all her own. When she was about 1 year old she had 4 precious kittens: Emily, Little Bob, Critter, and Friskie. She's kind of our miracle kitty. A few years ago she disappeared without a trace. We looked all over town for her. Then, about six months later we came home from my grandparents' house, and there she was! She was just sitting in the middle of our driveway like she had never been gone! When Violet is outside she likes to climb trees and get on the roof. She just never seems to be able to get down. Many times I've had to crawl out the window and on to the roof to get her down. One time she was stuck in a tree, and we called the phone company to come get her down. Violet definitely leaves an impression on everyone she meets!
Emily...... Emily is one of Violet's four kittens. She's a black and white tabby and very lovable. She's rather large and fluffy with great big green eyes in a little dish face. She turned 10 in May.She loves to play and loves to be loved on. When she meows it sounds like cute little chirps. Sometimes in the middle of the night we can hear Emily practicing her piano by walking up and down the keys! Anytime one of us is on the computer, Emily likes to sit with us and keep our laps warm.
Boo......Boo is the baby in the family. He's not even a year old. He's a gray tabby with a cream colored belly. He was a Christmas present to my mom from the rest of the family. We went to the local animal shelter and picked him out from tons of cute kitties. We tied a little red ribbon around his neck and surprised Mom by sticking him in a stocking! He was little bitty then so he fit. He's grown a lot since then. He loves to travel with us, so we take him many places in the car! Boo has many toys he loves to play with. He does flips in the air and runs all over the house trying to catch them.
Loner......Loner was our 16 year old tabby. She was born on Easter in 1981. She disappeared earlier this year.
Mr. Tom......Mr. Tom was a large tomcat we had for only a little while. He has disappeared too.
THE DOGGIES
Ed......Ed is kind of our guard dog, but don't let him fool you because he is very sweet. He's a yellow lab. Someone just left him out by our house one day. He was so small and skinny but so cute. We had to keep him! We named him Ed after one of the characters on the TV show Northern Exposure. He likes to dig huge holes in our front yard. Apparently, that's his version of a security system. You'd never think he was terrified of Violet!
Piglet......Piglet is our newest addition. Lynde's dog had puppies, so we got one (with a little convencing in the parental department.) Ed loves having her around to keep him company. We named her Piglet because when she was born, she looked exactly like a little pig, curly tail and all.
THE FISHIES AND THE HERMIT CRAB
The Fish......I have 5 fish. They live in an aquarium on my bookcase in my bedroom. The aquarium was a Christmas present. I go through fish quickly sometimes. I did keep a goldfish named Spike alive for over a year though. Right now I have an algae eater and four tiger barbs.
The Hermit Crabs......I have two hermit crabs that we brought home from Florida last summer. He's rather large for a hermit crab. He mostly crawls around his cage at night and makes a whole lot of noice!
