Stimpy

Ren's favorite feline friend

Beware! When least expected a cat will sneak up and steal your heart.

Sue Giffin Litwin and Sydney Griffin Wiley.

Stimpy was dumped by uncareing people when he was just a couple months old.He came to the shelter thin, hungry and very afraid. His cry was so pitiful that it brought tears to my eyes.

Stimpy is now a very happy and loving kitty! He just loves to be around people and spends a lot of time at Santa Barbara City College. The college is on a beautiful bluff top campus that starts where my property line ends so Stimpy does not have to cross any streets to get there. All of the students just love him! He likes to go into the classrooms and sit on the students laps.He also really likes the Theatre Arts buliding. He likes to sleep on top of the costumes. When everyone is ready to go home for the day, they leave a window open just for Stimpy. They even sent him a Christmas card last year.In fact,Stimpy gets more mail then I do!

Another place to find Stimpy is the campus libairy. He helps the students study when he is there.

About 3 years ago stimpy was hit by a car.He suffered a broken leg and pelvis. All of Stimpys dear friends at City College sent cards and over $300.00 dollars to help pay the vet bill.Their kindness brought tears to my eyes.

You would never know now that Stimpy was ever hit.He is doing great and has learned to stay away from nasty cars.

This is part of the college grounds where Stimpy likes to play.Every day hundereds of students and teachers stop and take a minute to pet and talk with Stimpy. They tell him all their troubles and he makes them feel better.I hear he gives real good advice.I also learned that Stimpy has taken a likeing to sleeping on top of the scanners in the computer room and very recently during a play at the Theatre Arts Buliding he decided that he wanted to be in the play as well and got up on the stage.I wish I had a picture of that! He got the most curtain calls that night.

Meet Syliva. She is my oldest kitty(around 18 or so)and queen of the house! She has her very owen chair outside on the porch in the sun where she likes to spend her days watching all that is going on in the world. At night you can find her sleeping on top of the TV another favorite spot of hers.

I will never forget the first time I saw you sitting in that cage so frightened and all alone. In the breif moment you captured my heart and never let go.You gave me so much joy and happiness. You were always such a comfort to me.I always knew that when I had a bad day I could count on you to be there.I'll miss how you used to sleep on top of the tv and your tail would hang down and be in the way.And any time I would cook chicken you would steal some of it off my plate.I'll never forget looking in your eyes and you saying to me "It's ok mom.I'm ready to go".I will miss you my friend.Until we meet agian.

Thank you Leslie for coming to the house and helping my beloved Syliva start her journy to The Rainbow Bridge.God Bless you.

Tabasco Cat My sweet little baby. When he arrived at the shelter he was sickly and depressed little kitten as a lot of them are during kitten season. He didn't want to eat and would just huddle in the back of his cage.I spent time with him every day encurageing him to eat and giving him lots of love.He sure hated to take his medicine! I had a heck of a time getting it in him.

Tabasco didn't seem to be doing very well at the shelter so I took him home so that he could get the extra attention that he seemed so desperately to need.I set him up in his owen room away from the rest of the cats since I didn't know what might be wrong with him.I had him tested for FELV/FIV.The test came back neg much to my relief.

In time I fell in love with my Tabasco and just couldn't bring myself to take him back to the shelter when he was all better(No wonder I have so many cats!! I'm such a sap!).

Tabasco does tend to come down with URI often.I'm at this point not sure why.He always gets better quickly although, when it was time to get neutered, you would have thought that he knew if he stayed sick that he wouldn't have to go to the vet and have it done! After having to break 4 appointments I finely was able to have them do it.It took a while but Tabasco forgave me for putting him through such torchure.

Today at 2 years,Tabasco is a healthy happy kitty who loves to play with his toys, eat and sleep.

This is my Leslie who has a very specail place in my heart.I got him when he was just a few days old.I bottlefeed him and took him everywhere with me.He is now 3 years old and you would never know by looking at him that he was FIV pos.He has his own specail place in the house and we spend lots of time togeather. He is still very healthy and hopefully will be with me for a long time still.
