John Lytle had two known sons, William and Robert. William Jr. was a founder of Cincinatti, Ohio (there is a Lytle Rark and statue). He was known as "General", though this seems to be honorary. His grandson was William Haines Lytle, a Civil War general and poet. Robert Jr. was a judge and left many descendants, some of whom crossed paths with Lytles of Grant County, Indiana, and their Kansas descendants, too.
