U.S. Lytle & Lyttle Pensioners
for wars 1861-1916

This document contains the pension application extracts for Lytles and Lyttles, for services in U.S. wars from 1861 to 1916, meaning from the Civil War and up to but NOT including World War I. Most records are for the Civil War, but not entirely. Some records are known to be for service in the Spanish American War.

The pensioner himself could apply for an "invalid" pension, which was government assistance for soldiers with some amount of disability due to conditions or actions while enlisted. Second is a survivor's pension, usually known as a widow's pension. This was usually applied for by a surviving widow, but other dependents or someone acting on their behalf could apply.

When available, the state in which the applicant is living is shown. Unless otherwise indicated, the survivor is the widow. Exceptions are noted parenthetically and include:
