Thomas Lytle Buys a Slave

Bill of Sale from Benjamin Wallace (or Wallar) to Thomas Lytle.

Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Wallace of the County of Randolph State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of ninety six pound Lawful money of the State affor Said to me in hand paid at the sealing and deliverance hereof by Thomas Lytle of the County and State afforsaid the Resept whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained and sold and by this presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Lytle A Certain negro boy named Casso about twelve years of age to have and to hold said negro unto the said Thomas Lytle his Executor administrators and assigns for ever and I the said Benjamin Wallace my Executors administrators and assigns and Against all and every other person and persons Whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents in witness whereof I have here unto Set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of march in the year one Thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.
