This is a copy of a page from the wedding book of Vivian Bobo and Lessie Lee Wykes. The book was a gift from her younger brother, Eron Bobo. The date of the wedding was December 20, 1908. The following write-up was in the paper.
"On last Sunday evening at the home of the bride's father, Mr. E.S. Bobo, Miss Vivian Bobo and Mr. L.L. Wykes were married at 6:30 o'clock. Rev. Bass, of Waco, being called upon to say the solemn words that bound them together for better or worse.
Mr. Wykes is a prosperous young man of the Oakalla settlement and is in every way worthy of the heart he has won.
Miss Vivian has made her home in Killeen for some time and possessing a sweet and amiable disposition has made friends of all whom she has met. Mr. and Mrs. Wykes will reside at Oakalla."
A second clipping focused on the activities of the Rev. Bass:
"Rev. Bass and wife came in Saturday evening from Waco, Bro. Bass being called upon to say the ceremony for the Wykes-Bobo marriage. They have many friends here who were glad to see them again."
