My Blair Family Tree Album

Found this picture in my father's stuff and on the back of it is written in my Dad's handwriting "Old Home Place showing Buttes looking towards Yampa, CO.". My father was born in Skidmore,Cherokee Co., KS and after the death of his mother, he and my grandfather went to live in Phippsburg,Routt Co., CO. with his grandparents, Harrison & Nancy Jane Hudson-Blair. This picture of the Old Home Place is in Phippsburg,CO. Dad left Phippsburg when he went into the Army and then settled in Hayward,Alameda Co., CA.
Picture taken in 1953

I really never knew many of my family members on the Blair side. Most of the family had long passed by the time I came along. I think of them often and they are always in my thoughts and memories with much love.

One family member that I can remember is my Great-Grandmother, Nancy Jane Hudson Blair. I can remember the days when she would come and stay with us for a few days every so often and how we would set in the back yard and she would play games with me and my sister and brother. I can remember that she loved to sew. She would sew by hand and made many nice things for myself and sister. I only wish that I would have had more time with her before she passed on. It isn't that she died young!! Great-Grandma died at the ripe young age of 99 years.

Please give this page a little time to load. Go get yourself a cup of coffee or... a diet caffeine free coke" so when you come back, you can set down and enjoy the album.

When you start to examine the family tree your're bound to be taking chances... Not so much on what you'll find at the roots... As what's apt to fly out of some branches!

These pictures were found among my father's pictures. Written on the back of the pictures were "Mt. Harris coalmines & showing coal cars & bridge & tippel". My grandfather & father both worked in the coalmines of KY and CO. My father started when he was only 13 years old. I don't know if this is one of them that they worked in or not.
Pictures taken in 1953.

I have a few more pictures of the older family members and soon as I find out who they are I will put them up.
