Mrs. Cassie Ratcliff Dies Early Today
Funeral Services Will Be Conducted From Home Wednesday Afternoon Mrs. Cassie N. Ratcliff, 26, wife of Horace Ratcliff, of Route 1, Pinetown, died in a local hospital early this morning following an illness of five weeks.
Mrs. Ratcliff was born June 1, 1919, daughter of Mrs. Cora Pegram Craddock and the late Henry Craddock, of Beaufort County. She was a member of the Christian Church of Belhaven.
Surviving are her husband, one son, Harold; one daughter, Lula Mae; her mother; two sisters, Miss Sarah Craddock, of Route 1, Pinetown and Mrs. Ruth Ratcliff of Pantego, and two brothers, William Craddock, of Pinetown, and Troy Craddock, of Bridgeton (Craven Co., NC).
Funeral services will be conducted from the home in the Free Union section, Route 1, Pinetown, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Duffy Toler in charge. Interment will follow in the Ratcliff Family Cemetery.

Fatal To Plymouth Man Monday Nite
Russell L. Craddock, 22, was the victim of a fatal shooting, Monday night, August 25 when he was hit in the sternum region of his chest. Craddock was shot with a 16 gauge shotgun through the back door of his mobile home on 104 West Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Chief Foye Davenport and Sheriff Paul Basnight were assisted in the arrest of Larry Marslender, 29, at his home in Jamesville by Martin County Sheriff Raymond Hawkins and his deputy, Nathan Roberson. Marslender was charged with the shooting and returned to the Washington County jail.
Chief Davenport called the motive of the shooting a family affair. A hearing for Marslender is slated for Thursday August 28.
State Bureau of Investigation agents Doug Phillips and Tom Caddy was given the weapon which was registered to Larry Marslender. The shotgun will be sent to the FBI laboratory in Raleigh for routine ballistic test.
Mr. Craddock is the husband of Mrs. Dawn Davis Craddock his parents are Mr. And Mrs. William Craddock of Pantego. He was born in Beaufort County June 17 1947 and had moved from Pantego to Plymouth over two years ago. He was employed in the power department at Weyerhneuseir Company and was a veteran of the US Navy.
Besides his wife and parents the deceased is survived by three sisters, Miss Sue Craddock and Mrs. Brenda Bell of Pantego and Mrs. R. I. Stegber of --hampton, VA; two brothers Rayvon Craddock of Pantego and a grandmother Mrs. R. B. Midgette of Pinetown.
Funeral services for Mr. Craddock were conducted this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Plymouth Church of Christ where the deceased was a member. Rev. Eugene McGliee and Rev. W. T. Nelson officiated Hillside Memorial Gardens was the site of the burial.

Preliminary examination was conceited in District Court last Thursday in the murder of Larry Marslender, who on August 25 did unlawfully, willfully and feloniously and of his malice aforethought kill and murder Russell H. Craddock.
A probable cause was found and Marslender was bound over to the September 8, September 1969 session of Superior Court bail was denied.

Marslender Given 25 - 30 Year Term
The mixed term of Washington County Superior Court was held here Monday with the Atonable Joseph W. Parker presiding. Larry Marslender of Jamesville was sentenced to 25 - 30 years in the State Prison in the shooting death of Russell Craddock of Plymouth on August 27 1969. Marslender entered a plea of guilty in a charge of Second of murder.

Services For Mr. Craddock Held Today
Baltimore - Mr. Richard H. Craddock 65, passed away on April 28, 1966 in John Hopkins Hospital, following a long illness. He was a retired welder.
Son of George W. and Alice White Craddock, he was born in Tyrrell County on January 7, 1921. He lived for some time in the Roper area. Mr. Craddock is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Penny Craft, Mrs. Ruth Spruill and Mrs. Sabrie Spruill all of Roper and Mrs. Marie Sexton of Plymouth; one brother, Mr. Marvin Craddock of Roper.
A graveside service was held 11 a.m. today at Hillside Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ralph Leggett officiating. Horner-Roanoke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Craddock Rites Held Saturday
Craddock, 73, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of Washington County, was born on December 27, 1885, the son of the late Levi and Mary Craddock. He was married to the late Beulah Fletcher Craddock. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Plymouth.
Survivors include one stepson, H. M. Ramsey, Plymouth and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Horner's Funeral Home on Saturday at 3 p.m., by the Rev. P. B. Nickens, assisted by Rev. Charles P. Brooks. Burial follows in Windley Cemetery.

Craddock Rites Held Wednesday
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Beaulah Fletecher Craddock, 74, who died Tuesday at Washington County Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Craddock, a resident of Plymouth for forty-seven years, was the daughter of the late Stephen and Nellie Smith Fletcher of Hyde County. She is survived by her husband, Jesse S. Craddock; a son, Hartwell M. Ramsey, Jr., of Plymouth, and one brother, Stephen Fletcher of Pantego, NC.
Mrs. Craddock was a member of the Plymouth Christian Church. Services were held at Horner's Funeral Home at 3 p.m. yesterday with the Reverend P. B. Nickens officiating assisted by the Reverend Bill Gardner. Burial was in the Windley Cemetery.

Funeral for T. C. Craddock Monday
Thomas C. Craddock
Funeral services were held Monday for T. C. Craddock, well known and well liked farmer, of near Roper, in Washington County, who succumbed Saturday as the result of a severe stroke of paralysis. He was 75 years of age.
The final rites were held in Pleasant Grove Methodist church, with Rev. J. W. Watson officiating. Surviving are two sons, Terry, of Roper, and Charles of Rockingham, one daughter, Mrs. Harvey Langley, of Morehead City.

Troy M. Craddock
Troy M. Craddock, 84, a former resident of the Pamlico Beach community, died Monday 29,2001 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ryder Hill Cemetery at Pamlico Beach with Dean Fulford Jr. officiating.
Craddock was born in Beaufort County on May 18, 1916, son of the late Henry Craddock and Cora Pegram Craddock. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was married to the former Cora Hopkins, who survives.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Earl Richardson and Michael R. Richardson, both of Bath, and Donnie Eugene Richardson of Richlan; three daughters, Teresa H. Smith, Regina C. Woolard and Doris C. Foreman, all of Washington’ one brother, William Craddock of Pantego; one sister, Sarah Credle of Scranton; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Craddock was preceded in death by a son, Charles Milton Craddock. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home of his daughter. Doris C. Foreman, 165 Wren Drive, Washington
Ruth Craddock Radcliffe
Ruth Craddock Radcliffe, 80 of Swindell Road, Route 1, Belhaven, died Sunday, Nov 3 1996, at Pungo District Hospital in Belhaven. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven with Randy Masters and Reggie Brazeiel officiating. Burial will follow in the Radcliffe Family Cemetery.
Larry Kinsey, Travis Russ, Mickey Bensonm Wayne Perry, Billy Neal Jr., and Kenneth Neal will serve as pallbears. Mrs Radcliffe was born on May 18 1916, in Beaufort county to the late Henry and Cora Pegram Craddock. On Nov 14, 1934, she married Eugene Hassel Radcliffe, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1967. She was a devoted wife and mother who also worked for several years with Blue Channel of Belhaven before her retirement. She was also a member of Wilkinson Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters Cora Williams of Pink Hill, Lula Stout of Washington, and Teresa Bates of Belhaven; one sister, Sarah Credle of Scranton; two brothers, William Craddock of Pantego, and Troy Craddock of Belhaven; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several stepbrothers and stepsisters and other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Retha Allen, a grandchild and one-great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven and at other times at the home. Arrangements are by Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven.
