WILL OF JOHN RIPPETO I

To all Christian people unto whom these presents writing shall come I, John Rippeto of Albemarle County senith Greeting know ye that I John Rippeto for drivers good causes and valuable considerations me here unto moving have given granted sad by these presents do give grant bargain and confirm unto Isaac Crosthwait my son-in-law and Elizabeth his wife my daughter twenty three acres of land lying a being in Albemarle County on the top of Piny Mountain and bounded as Pollowth to - wit; Beginning at a point stake drove down by the old cabin in the plantation thence north five degrees east forty four poles to a hickory saplin in the hollow of the mountain tnence north twenty six degrees east eighty six poles to a pine and chestnut oak thence north thirty five degrees East forty poles to two pines on the path thence South seventy six degrees East twenty five poles to two Black and White oak sapline in the old line over the mountain thence along the same south fifty three degrees west one hundred and Seventy six poles to the E first station together with all houses, orchards, gardens fences woods and under-woods water a watercourses there unto belonging or in anywise appurtaining to have and to hold the said land and premises with their and every of their appurtenances the said Isaac Crosthwait & Elizabeth his wife and their heirs Executors admrs.or desings shall and will warrant and forever delfend by these present against any person or persons claiming the same or any part or parcel there of in witness.

WILL OF JOHN RIPPETO II

In the name of God amen I John Rippeto of the County of Albemarle being in my present senses and memory but calling to mind the uncertainty of life of death do make at this my last will & Testament in the manner Following: Item my will and desire is that all my just debts should be paid out of my estate by my executor hereafter to be named. Item I land to my beloved wife Mary Rippeto the tract of land whereon I now live together with all the rest and residue of my estate of what nature and kind I may possess at my death during her natural life or widowhood and at her death she marriage I give the tract of land & Plantation wheron I now live to my daughter Mary Ripeto together with all the rest and residue of my estate to her and her heirs forever, my reason for giving all my estate to my daughter Mary Ripeto is that I have already given to the rest of my children what I intended them to have of my estate. And I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary Ripeto and Henry Stone executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & five. John Ripto (Seal) Signed by the said Ripeto as his last will and testament and witnesses by us at his requested in present of Isaac Davis Jr. Elijah D. Watts, Kinsea Stone, James Stone "At a court held for Albemarle County the 6th day of March 1820 This instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of John Ripeto deceased was produced into Court and proved by the oaths of Elijah D.
