Together on a mountain top,
Hand in hand, side by side.
The city lights lay far below,
Shimmering like new fallen snow.
We stare into the starry night,
The stars above are shiny and bright.
But it is the moon which holds our gaze,
A silvery sliver surround by a hola of haze.
What are you hanging afar?
The smile in the darkness.
A beacon for love?
You throw deep shadows,
Where lovers hide.
You brighten the lakes,
Where hapless romantics sit and sigh.
The subject of poets and painters alike,
That glowing orb which hangs in the night.
