Mystery
One would imagine, that over a period of 30 plus years, that things in the world would change. Between the years of 1928 and 1960, automobiles changed, medicine, fashion, practically the whole entire world changed except what I call,
"The Perpetual Pony Pics".
When did they start??? When did they end??? Or did they???
Below, are two photographs taken 30 plus years apart. The first one is my father, James William Edward Fraley, at about age 10, astride a noble looking steed in 1928 in West Virginia.
The second photo is yours truly, "yippi-ki-o-ing" it up in 1960, in sunny old Southern California. Never mind that it's scarry enough that I have teeth missing and my mother is perm obcessed. But what I want to know is...
Is this the same pony???
And,why after my parents got me hooked on ponies, wouldn't they let me have one to keep in the backyard? After all, there were other livestock around. In fact, the drive-up dairy where we bought our milk up the street had their cows and milking facilities on the property!
These perplexing questions still remain a mystery....
