Williams Family AlbumMy Williams ancestors left Cardiff, Wales circa 1858 and came to the state of Pennsylvania to the area of Byrnedale in Elk County where they worked as coal miners. This is a photo of my Grandmother Verna Williams (Peters) and my Great Aunts and Uncles, at least what there were of them at the time in Byrnedale, Elk County, Pennsylvania. This is my Grandmother, Verna also as a young woman. This is my Great Uncle "Bill". He is shown in the top picture of the children...the boy in the back with the impish grin,or is that 'devilish'... He is also the only person I knew that served in every branch of the U.S. Military and by the grace of God, survived the terrible, 'Battle of the Bulge" in WWII. The baby he is holding is my mother Anna Peters at 3 months old. |
