To Our Valentine Tribute
The Legend Of The First Valentine
The first Valentine was sent in the third century A.D.
by a young Roman. His name was Valentinus.
For giving aid to Christian martyrs,
he was imprisoned by Emperor Claudius II
and sentenced to death. According to legend,
while Valentinus was awaiting his execution,
he befriended the blind daughter of the jailer,
and restored her sight. On the night before he died,
Valentinus penned a farewell message to the girl
who had meant so much to him,
and signed it "From your Valentine."
Valentinus was put to death on the 14th of February
and was buried in what is today the
Church of Praxedes in Rome.
Near his grave, a pink almond tree,
a symbol of abiding love is said to have bloomed.
Thus the name of Valentinus has come down
through the centuries as the word which stands
for affection among friends and
love among sweethearts.

My Everything
My True Home
Just this morning I awoke so in love with
you that inside a cloud Burst
to lift me high above city streets and
down country roads to a log cabin in the woods where,
by a fire of apple and peach tree,
I laid my head against your lap and found there...
my true home.
And as the song title says
I Will Always Love You
To My Pal And Mate,
And Very Best Friend
Brenda
Who I Love Dearly.
Forever
I met you one day
A long time ago I knew not what to say
Or which way to go Our friendship grew stronger
Together we had fun The good times lasted longer
I thought you might be the one I tried to disguise how
I felt Really tried to keep it hid
But I knew the cards had already been dealt
So I opened myself;
I lifted the lid I told you what I thought
How we were meant to be together
Your love was what I sought
Would we last until forever?
