Kumiko posing for the Larne Times in Craigyhill |
"Aye luv this'siz the buz" "Rooters" Japanese tourist Kumiko Tsuchida was surprised when her attempt to pay for dinner ended with her arrival at Northern Irelands' leading hill-resort! Madame Tsuschida, an unemployed Geisha girl cum stripper, had just enjoyed a delightful sushi supper washed down with copious amounts of imported Bass Bitter at the Kernarna restaurant in downtown Osaka, she called over the waiter and said "I must have the bill".

What she did not realise was that the Kernarna restaurant was one of the many increasingly popular restaurant/travel agents that are springing up all over Japan. When she said "I must have my bill" her waiter cum travel agent thought she had requested a "Bus to Craigyhill"!!
She told the Daily Mail, "I kept saying i want to pay the bill". But because of my pronunciation they put me on a Trans-Asian Ulster Bus to Craigyhill via Larne.
"I thought it was a all a bit strange, but when I asked people 'C'n I pay the bill, pay the bill?' they told me "Aye luv yir on the rite bus,so ye are. Joost fine minutes an we're oota Anitville"
Police intervened after she was spotted wandering "the shops" at night, chopsticks in hand. "She said she had believed she was here to pay her bill . When we first spoke to her the reply was unintellegable and confused, so we assumed the she had just wandered across the green from Fanad Drive" a police spokesman said.
After a night in an old folk's hostel and amidst 12 proposals of marriage, 3 of debauchery and an offer of a Chinese restaurant waitressing job at Aruthurs, Tsuchida, who had only Antiville money on her, was whisked back to London to resume her journey by air.
"I loved Craigyhill" she exclaimed "the people were wonderful but I don’t know why they called me Suzi Wong. Is she a local girl?"
Kumiko has vowed to bring a group of 500 Japanese sushi chef's over on their annual conference, which will be held at Lynn Community Centre. Catering will be by Harry Hamdog.
One can imagine the reception she would have enjoyed if met by the towns most famous ice cream man, "Stewartie"
