  • So, it's been a long time since the last update, eh? No, Your Humble Editor hasn't turned Canadian in the interim. He has, however, left the law firm world behind for the greener pastures—or is that greener aprons—of Starbucks, where he—or is it I? and are…we the only ones getting tired of this talking in the third-person nonsense—does legal review of all advertising and marketing for North America.

  • Speaking of review, we recently checked in on what's going on these days with the stations of the mighty KidStar Radio Network. The Houston station (980 AM) is now a Univision affiliate, also playing Tejano music. San Francisco (1220 AM) is now conservative talk. Boston (1150 AM) is now news-talk with a conservative slant. San Diego (1240 AM) now features a Chinese/Vietmanese format and Detroit (1310 AM) is now an Air America affiliate. The flagship station in Seattle (1250 AM) still broadcasts Radio Disney.

  • Although Radio Disney soldiers on, it is without one of it's shining lights, as our very own Brenda Goldstein-Young has jumped ship to KPLU. Does she like her new job as the promotions director for the jazzy NPR affiliate? "It's better than chocolate!" says B.G-Y., although knowing Brenda's passions as we do, we don't quite believe her.

  • We also can't believe that all of the kids who used to work for KidStar are now adults. Case in point is Elizabeth Dixon, who was perhaps best known for her starring role as Mandy on Waft In Space. Elizabeth writes that she recently graduated from Duke University with a degree in public policy and is now working for a lobbying firm in our nation's capitol. That would be Washington D.C., by the way.

  • Your Humble Editor ran into Dex Manley recently. The Dex-Man(ley) just finished starring in his second film, Bullets, Blood and a Fistful of Cash, an action film about organized crime. Dex reports that he's also in post-production on a documentary he's made about pirate radio. More on that and another project from the man who may supplant Howard Stern as the King of All Media next time.

  • Dex isn't the only one with a budding film career. Klem Daniels' daughter, Caitlin, had a principal role in the movie, The Hunted, starring Benicio del Toro and Tommy Lee Jones. As for Klem, he continues to voice everything in sight. Well, ear-shot.

  • The last we heard from Shelli Gonshorowski was early last year, when she had just been tabbed as producer for Marie and Friends, a daily radio talk show hosted by Marie Osmond. The show's Web site has been down since late last year and there is no mention of it on the Jones Radio Network site, so we can only assume that Marie was either a little too country or a little too rock 'n' roll and is off commiserating somewhere with Donny.

  • Hey, all this new plus five new links? It's almost unfair. You say you want a revolution…I mean you say you want updates sooner than every two years? Write us with some news!
