Peter was born in Luxemburg - November 7th, 1845.
In 1846(Aug), when he was nine months old, his parents immigrated to the US -- Settling in Wisconsin.

He died at the age of 78 years - August 16 1924. Peter & "Mary (Schladweiler)" Tescher are both buried in St. Michaels Catholic Cemetary, Kewaskum, Wisconsin. (Washington County)

(AFFIDAVIT Text)...

Final Proof required under Homestead Act May 20, 1862
WE, John Schlafer and George Fogen do solemnly swear that we
have known Peter Tescher for six years last past; that he is
the head of a family consisting of a wife and three children
and is a citizen of the United States; that he is an inhabitant
of E 1/2 of NW 1/4 & SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of section No. Two in
Township No. Twenty two of Range No. Ten West and that no other
person resided up the said land entitled to the right of Homestead
or Pre-emption.

That the said Peter Tescher entered upon the made settlement
on said land on the 28th day of November, 1872, and has built a house
thereon (a log house one story high 10x13 feet, & a kitchen 8x10 feet
with shingle roof, 2 board floors, 3 windows and one outside
door and is a comfortable house to live in)
and has lived in the said house and made it his exclusive home from
the 15th day of April, 1873, to the present time, and that he has,
 since said settlement, plowed, fenced, and cultivated about 22 acres
of said land, and has made the following improvements thereon, to wit:
(Built a log grainery 8x14 feet, a log stable 20x20 feet)
That the wittnesses do not appear at the district land office on
account of the great distance of the same and the expenses of the trip.
