James STRAND born 1818 Wingham, Kent, is the brother of my great great grandfather Richard.
James died 26 December 1904 at 17 Wincheap Street, Canterbury, Kent.
Charles STRAND (Executor) is my great grandfather.
T H I S I S T H E L A S T W I L L A N D T E S TA M E N T
of me JAMES STRAND of Wincheap Street in the Parish of
Saint Mildred in the City and County of Canterbury Labourer
After and subject to the payment of all my just debts
and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeath a11 my real and personal
estate monies securities for money and household furniture
and all that I may die possessed of unto my wife Sarah Strand for her
personal use during her lifetime And at her death
I devise and bequeath al1 the real and personal estate monies securities
for
money and household furniture and all that she may die
possessed of unto my nephew Charles Strand of the Parish of Saint Peter
in the City avid County of Canterbury warehouseman son
of my brother Richard Strand absolutely his heirs executors administrators
and assigns with the exception of the eight day clock
which I bequeath to my wife's niece Jane Elizabeth Russell daughter of
Thomas Russell but if she should predecease me I then
bequeath the aforesaid clock to her sister Emily Clara Russell and if she
should predecease me I bequeath the aforesaid clock to
her sister Alice Rose Russell If my wife Sarah Strand should predecease
me I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal
estate monies and securities for money household furniture and all that
I may
die possessed of unto my aforesaid nephew Charles Strand
absolutely his heirs executors administrators and assign with the exception
of the aforesaid eight day clock which I bequeath to
the aforesaid Jane Elizabeth Russell but if she should predecease me then
I
bequeath the aforesaid clock to the aforesaid Emily Clara
Russell and if she should predecease me I then bequeath the aforesaid
clock to the aforesaid Alice Rose Russell I hereby
revoke all former wills by me made I nominate and appoint the aforesaid
Charles Strand sole EXECUUTOR of this my last will and
testament IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand this
eighth day of February One thousand eight hundred and

by the direction of the said testator as his last will and testament in
the
presence of us both present at the same time who at the
request of the testator in his presence and in the presence of each other
have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses the said
will having been previously read over to him owing to the said testator
being

AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written
the last Will and Testament
of the said deceased was proved and registered in the
Principal Probate
Registry of His Majesty's High Court of Justice, and
that administration
of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests
in the personal
representative of the said deceased was granted by the
aforesaid Court
to Charles
Strand of 34 S.Peter's
Place in the said City Warehouseman
the nephew of deceased the
sole executor
named in the said Will
