Thoughts, ideas, and just stuff that bugs me. In other words, "My place to rant."
Entry for August 13, 2006
Well, it's coming up on election time again. Most primaries are already over, except for a few run-offs. Did you even notice? Did you partake of your right to vote? Perhaps an even better question might be, "Are you registered to vote at all?"

It's high time we had a revolution in this country. It's time the people took back the government. It long past time the people took some interest in the future of this country. How can this be done you ask. Well here's my plan for a revolution:

1.) REGISTER TO VOTE! That is the first step everyone should take. Without this you have no voice in anything this country does, or what happens.

2.) KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE IN OFFICE!  Are they doing what you think is right. Are they padding their own accounts. In effect, are they running this country as it should be run.

3.) CHECK OUT THOSE THAT WANT TO BE IN OFFICE! Are their beliefs and standards the same as yours? Don't be afraid to ask the hard questions. THEN, demand answers. Don't let them waffle around with it. Given a chance they will try to side step the hard questions.

4.) VOTE! Don't come crying to me about how lousey things are if you don't take part in the process. No vote. No bitch.

Yeah, yeah, I know:

"I don't have time for all that."

TIME

Do you have "time" to let this great country go to hell in a hand basket? What about the future of your children? Would you rather they grew up in a free society or under some form of socialistic state where they have no rights.

"I can't make a difference!"

DIFFERENCE

How do you know you can't make a dfference? Have you tried? It was just a smallish group of people that made a huge difference 230 yeas ago. They overthrew a mighty empire. OK, OK, I know, they used guns and bullets that time. BUT, they didn't have the right to vote then either. NOW, we can use the power of the vote to change things. That is the POWER of the citizenry in this country. WE, have the power. But only f we use it.

STARTING THE REVOLUTION

Lets start this year. Lets send a message to capital hill. How? One suggestion I heard was to vote every incumbant out of office. That will shake the halls of power to the very roots. If those in office KNOW their position is on the line it will shake them up.
